Love and sex –where it leads to

Love and Sex continues to be a hot topic right from, maybe, Adam and Eve. It is like ‘what came first, egg or chic’ – a conundrum. All species love within their respective species to a greater degree. Humans love amongst themselves, more than their house mosquitoes. Human’s next love is other creatures that live on land and water. Our interest is to know about other creatures and thus we created many books on Botany and Zoology filled with myriad names of species with clear family names including sub branches, not forgetting the names of long dead Dinosaurs.
The beginning of sex: We loved to procreate and keep our stables full always. This story went on well smoothly for very, very long time. Sex is undeniably a biological tool God endowed us more or less, including the paraphernalia in various organs, hormones, sensory stimuli and receptors, preferences, etc This is either to promote or discourage life as per whims of nature or special times that warrant. Here Family Planning used to be godsend for it would somewhat handle sex with kid’s gloves. Now we have other reasons to be testy and choosy with partners, what with contraceptives that half kill the joy, for the fear of AIDS. This is in spite of recklessness of Viagras. The Damocles’ sword still hangs when condoms malfunction. Again, the personal codes, in the law books of the land, restrict the number of partners in the wedlock, so also the customs in the clans and strictures of societies. So there are many restrictions to dampen the sex effort including the extra pollution in the air, adding to the anxiety of 21st century office goers.
Lighter side apart, any mate fights to keep his or her partner for himself or herself. For this he/she may go to the extent of even killing the rival or committing suicide alternatively. That is an instinct defendable biologically and I wouldn’t support that on moral grounds. To me it is wiser to allow any second partner in, when she or he could cook or baby-sit. The help in this area is hard to come by, these difficult days you see.
Argument for love: But when we talk of love, I say the sky is the limit. Who can stop looking at cute figures on calendars or in the popped up browser windows, like we see the likes of i10, Maruti DZire, Jaguar models on display. Fashions are on the rise making deeper and still lower cuts(not cost wise of course) in the already transparent apparels that proclaim the body contours(male and female alike) unabashedly leaving very little to guess--blame the catwalks on the ramps .Few missed the recent episode of wardrobe malfunction, deliberate or otherwise who knows. I watched the video clipping on my homepage and blushed. If something is put on show it should be meant for its intended effect and not for an accident.
Coming to back to sex, ironically, hatred too can result in sex in its own way, maybe on the lines of WWF. It is absolutely true that love begets love and sex is just to mark or seal that true love in the procreation that is a cherished result of a common bond between two opposite genders. The darling kids live up the saga to the eternity it is hoped. Some love as dearly as true lovers that may still be infatuation-- some skeletons in the cupboards. That is just a love making and does not go across the timeline in honesty. It merely falls as pastime making holes in the pockets on the other hand.
. Finally, I would say Body chemistry ultimately rules supreme, Viagra failing. All said, and everything done right all the way, the days of Darwin and the rules of natural selection are now doomed the Dinosaurs way. The days are in for live-in or live-out partners i.e. single parent / adoption by single parent, Test-tube parent and so one….one merely need to be inventive enough. The liberty to get as personal as one could in the too liberal societies with the new independence given to its members, especially from the rich and chic, knows no bounds. Where this new paradigms of love and lovemaking lead to is not even left to hazard a guess....

where our young ones go ?

where our young ones go ?

Mother Rose

How many of us read Sanskrit prayers without even trying to know the meaning of the words chanted (we don’t bother to translate to ourselves and chant the text and sometimes refuse to do) since we believe that our gods, we suppose, understand just Sanskrit alone and not our regional language or dialect. We further convince ourselves that even though we mispronounce the words in Sanskrit or misspell the translations in our regional language texts, the Heaven will not fall on our heads as no harm will be done on that score, for it is God to understand our intentions that our prayers are sincere and genuine as per our good conscience and understanding. Here I support our above pious chanters for they pray with a belief that God will understand our intentions in his heart of hearts and that by praying the slokas a world of good will be done to us as well as rest of the world. This is so; despite the fact that the impugned prayer or slokas contain certain words that may be categorically against our personal or collective sentiments and beliefs, (there are thousand and one instances of slippery wickets on the pitch of our Gods where we did not agree with our gods doings and undoing predispositions and indiscretions in their arenas truly punctuating the democratic religion of Hinduism (enshrined and reiterated in the episodes of Mahabharata and Ramayana by the characters including protagonist in such epics). We just consider the prayers as a ritual and feel ourselves absolved of all our mundane and even spiritual burdens to be ready for the day’s job with a near lightheaded feeling of enlightenment in the head and heart.

So is the national anthem of any country, as it will be always associated with national spirit, its mission, objective, vision, its past glory, sacrifice and dedications to the martyrs in the struggle for liberation, uplift etc., that spirit would be having deep-felt passions in the memory lane and involvement in psychological emotions of majority of people born, brought up and migrated to other countries, irrespective of any divisions on any lines ans so is the reason why we have to respect the intentions ofthe whole piece of a poem or song than some specifics in certain lines.

On the lighter side I look into some of the film songs. Though they read something in the movie, but when sung outside in public, in the similar fashion, they are sure to evoke anger and sharp responses from the listeners or passers leading to some raised fists or surprised eyebrows never the less, and you cant blame people in the by lanes reading between the lines of your song and alleging eve teasing and other criminal motives behind the innocuous lyrics of our hapless hummer. I would conclude finally with, of course, a cliché, what is in a name, a Rose smells as sweet by any other name, so is the nation that we reside in, where we come from, and so is its song so fragrant and we shall go by such rose, by Vandematharam.

Vandematharam.

Love-some dynamics

Love, that sweet fragrance,
peaceful, happy and silent,
in love with same ilk
makes it eternal,
and complete.
Here the so-called
truelove, the loveless, see
but in degrees of superlatives,
finding no true life.
Here I say, God loves first
to bring a child to the parents
to love, but some say love
exists for no reason too.
Hear some say they love
that one alone, as though
without he or she there is
no reason to live.
Here they fail to know
the ones who helped us to love.
Hear them say further,
"I fell in love for the first time".
There we hardly hear,
"No wonder,
I rose in love here".
